With Abreu Advogados, as an Of Counsel, since January 2008.
Chairman and CEO of the Board of Directors of Millennium BCP (2005-2007).
Banco Comercial Português (BCP), supervision of the legal advice to the Bank’s Corporative Centre (1995-2000).
General Director and BCP’s Corporate Secretary (2000).
General Secretary of the Millennium BCP Foundation (2004).
Member of the 12th constitutional government, under Prime-Minister Prof. Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva, acting as First Under-Secretary and then as Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and also the Government’s official speaker (1991-1992).
Lecturer at the Universidade de Lisboa both in the Faculdade de Direito (Law Faculty) and in the Faculdade de Letras (Humanities Faculty) and in the law department of Universidade Livre (1983-1988).

Degree in Law, by the Universidade de Lisboa;
Post-Graduate Studies in the History of Law by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
